Scottish Grand Prix SeriesThe second event of the scottish gp series was held at DBSC. The club ran the event very smoothly and managed to get 4 out of the scheduled 6 races off in very trying conditions
On Saturday the first race was delayed to allow some stragglers to reach the race area. When it go under way the wind was coming from the east at around F1-2. Campbell Davis took an early lead which he held onto till the end of the race. On the last run some competitors sailed into the bay to get out of the very strong tide and so made some big place gains. Further racing was cancelled as the wind shifted and then died.
Racing was postponed to allow the wind to settle which it eventually did just north of east. It continued to shift back and forth around 45 degress each time throughout the day, rarely exceeding F2 until the last race when it filled into about F3. Campbell Davis continued to show splendid form through the three races to win his first event in the Standard rig laser. Peter Malcolm worked hard throughout the day but despite getting ahead in the last race when many of the leaders had a poor start when the wind shifted hard left was unable to keep Campbell behind him and so Campbell won his first Scottish Laser event with a clean sweep.
